Electrical Designer – PLC Programmer
Division: Corporate Location: Rochester, NY – Buffalo Rd
Responsible for the electrical aspects of design, development and manufacturing by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs design of equipment controls and drafting for current and future projects.
Researches and specifies components using internet and catalogs for each project.
Meets with client to review project status.
Advises electrical production to ensure work is performed in an accurate manner and provides technical support as needed
Performs final check out and inspection based on client’s needs.
Prepares layout drawings for assembly and manufacturing of products.
Collaborates with Director of Engineer to determine equipment design.
Performs other drafting tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience: Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. HVAC controls design a plus.
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and Ohm’s Law.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; design software and internet software.
Specialized or Technical Training:
2D and 3D CAD (computer aided design)
